Curriculum
The Pre-school adheres to the curriculum for Nursery education as published by the former School Curriculum and Assessment Authority, now the Qualification and Curriculum Authority.
Each term's curriculum is planned well in advance and a theme is developed. Details of our theme is distributed to every parent at the beginning of term and a weekly list of things to bring is included. A copy of this can be found under term times and open Summer Term themes.
Full details of our curriculum can be found on our admissions page under prospectus.
Pre-school routine
As children come into the group they find their written names to place on the magnet board.
They then play until registration.
Free-play follows this and about half way through this session the children are offered a drink and a snack.
Snack Rota
We have a snack rota which enables your child to help you purchase the snack for your allocated day. They then prepare the snack and pass around the group at snack time. Please be assured that you are generally only requested to supply the snack twice during the term.
Items bought into the group for the interest table are then looked at and talked about.
The remainder of the session consists of free-play. Shortly before the children leave we have storytime, rhymes and singing. When parents /carers arrive the child will be called to leave the hall and join them in the hallway.
